Nouakchott to buy outdoor power supply
The Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdallah Cheikh-Sidia, and the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Investment Attractiveness, Nicolas Forissier, signed a concessional loan agreement on Tuesday in Nouakchott to finance the construction of 10 solar power stations equipped with storage units, for an amount of €39,223,671, equivalent to (1,817,000,000) new ouguiyas. On July 5, 2025, a joint venture composed of China Energy Construction China Power Engineering International, East China Electric Power Design Institute and Hunan Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd. officially signed an early working agreement with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) in Oman for the early work of the Ibri 3 photovoltaic energy storage power station project in Oman, marking the official entry of this major new energy project into the performance stage.
